Day 1
MADRID

Arrival to Madrid.

ARTISTIC MADRID. HALF DAY CITY TOUR WITH THE ROYAL PALACE AND THE PRADO MUSEUM

This visit is to the two most famous structures of the city: the Royal Palace, the home of Spanish Royalty from the 18th century until the time of exile of king Alfonso XIII. Today it is used as the setting for official receptions by the present King of Spain, Juan Carlos I. The Prado Museum is one of the world’s great art galleries. It displays paintings from the 12th to the 18th century. The most famous exhibits are those of Velázquez, Goya and El Greco.

MADRID

CULTURAL MADRID. HALF DAY CITY TOUR

Visit the museum Centro de Arte Reina Sofia of Modern Art (closed on Tuesday) inagurated by the Spanish Kings Juan Carlos I and Sofia the 10th September 1992. Permanent collections of the most important spanish artists: Picasso, Miró, Dalí, Gargallo, Gutiérrez Solana, Tápies, Chillida and Julio González. The Retiro Park, Plaza de la Independencia and Plaza Carlos V.

Day 3
El Escorial, Segovia

Departure to San Lorenzo del Escorial, stop to visit the Monastery and continue to Segovia.

EL ESCORIAL MONASTERY

The Monastery of El Escorial is said to be one of the architectural wonders of the world. It was built by Juan Herrera, being the personal idea of King Felipe II, who ordered its construction to commemorate the Spanish victory at the Battle of San Quintin in 1557. It was designed to be the burial place of the Royal Family in Spain.

Day 4
Segovia, Avila, Salamanca

Morning city tour of Segovia to visit including the Alcazar, the Roman Aqueduct and the Cathedral. Departure to Avila, stop to visit the Cathedral and the Convent of Santa Teresa and continue to Salamanca.

SEGOVIA AND AVILA. WALKING TOURS

Segovia

Segovia, universally famous for the Aqueduct, an imposing engineering marvel dating from Roman times. Here there is also a visit to the Alcazar, an enchanting fairytale fortress castle and the Jewish quarter.

Avila

Avila, a fortified city situated on an hilltop in the heart of Castile, the impressive medieval walls, the oldest and best preserved in Spain. The Convent of Santa Teresa, the old Jewish quarter, the Royal Monastery of Santo Tomas and the Cathedral.

Day 5
Salamanca, Caceres

Morning city tour of Salamanca including the Cathedral and the University. Departure to Cáceres.

SALAMANCA WALKING CITY TOUR

The Plaza Mayor, one of Salamanca's jewels and one of the most important main squares in Spain, arcaded in the Churrigueresque Baroque style, the City Hall, the House of Shells, the famous University and the new and old cathedrals.

Day 6
Caceres, Merida, Sevilla

Morning city tour of Cáceres including the Cathedral and the Palace of the Golfines de Abajo. Departure to Mérida, stop to visit the Archaeological Park and the Alcazaba, and continue to Sevilla.

CACERES. WALKING TOUR

The Procathedral of Santa María, a sixteenth-century Gothic building. The temple has three naves with orgive vaults. Note the plateresque high reredos and choir stalls. One of the most beautiful examples of local architecture in Caceres is the Palace of Golfines de Abajo (from the 15th century), with a gorgeous sixteenth-century plateresque façade and overlapping Gothic and Mudejar elements.

MERIDA. WALKING TOUR

The Roman legacy is still present in almost every little corner of town, the Roman Theatre being one of the most emblematic constructions. Next to it is the Amphitheatre, a stage where gladiators wrestled with beasts. The Temple of Diana and the Arch of Trajan are located in the city centre.

Day 7
Sevilla

Morning city tour of Sevilla including the Cathedral, the Santa Cruz quarter and the Alcázar.

HISTORICAL SEVILLA. HALF DAY CITY TOUR

Panoramic tour of the city with the Plaza de España and Maria Luisa Park. Afterwards the walking tour with the royal Alcazar fortress and gardens, the third largest cathedral in the world and walking through the Barrio de Santa Cruz Jewish quarter.

FLAMENCO SHOW EVENING
(dinner & show or show & drink)

Driving through the streets of Barcelona by night, you may admire the illuminated fountains, monuments and plazas. A dinner will be enjoyed at a Tablao Flamenco including wines and coffee. Afterwards watch a typical Flamenco Show where a performance of flamenco folklore will thrill you. Or just to watch the Show with one drink included.

Day 8
Sevilla

Excursion to Jerez de la Frontera.

JEREZ SHERRY WINE CELLAR AND HORSES

Departure to Jerez de la Frontera for a panoramic tour of the town and a visit to a famous wine-cellar, where we will be offered the possibility of tasting a variety of Sherry wines produced in this region. And a visit to watch the show or the training of the horses of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art.

Day 9
Cordoba

Departure to Córdoba to visit the Mosque, the Moorish walls, with the Gate of Almodóvar, and the Cathedral.

CORDOBA. WALKING CITY TOUR

The pretty and lovely Córdoba, declared World Heritage City. The tour visits the Great Mosque-Cathedral that constitute an unique architectural space, the Alcazar fortress, the Jewish quarter and the Synagogue.

Day 10
Granada

Departure to Granada to visit the Alhambra and the Generalife Gardens.

GRANADA ALHAMBRA FORTRESS & GENERALIFE GARDENS. WALKING TOUR

Granada is a city steeped in history of the ancient Moors. The visit starts with the Palace of Charles V in renaissance style. Once inside the great Fortress and Palace of the Alhambra, you will feel as if you have been transported into another century as you wander through the Lion’s Court and the Room of Secrets. Then we walk through the exquisitely beautiful Generalife Gardens filled with fountains and flowers.

Day 11
Granada, Almagro

Granada city center walking tour and departure to Almagro.

GRANADA HISTORICAL CITY CENTER WALKING TOUR

The walking tour starts with the Cathedral & Royal Chapel, the Alcaiceria former silk quarter, the Palacio de Madraza and the historical city center.

Day 12
Almagro, Toledo

Visit the La Mancha town of Almagro and continue to Toledo.

ALMAGRO. WALKING TOUR

Declared a Historic-Artistic Site with the Open Air Theatre, declared a National Monument, the houses el Mayorazgo de los Molina and la Casa del Prior, the palace of the Marquises of Torremejía, the church of San Agustin (declared of Cultural Interest), the convent of la Asunción de Calatrava (Historic-Artistic Monument), and the former Convent of San Francisco which is nowadays Parador de Turismo.

Toledo

TOLEDO. WALKING TOUR

One of the oldest and most interesting historical cities of Europe, reflects the many cultures that have formed it, and perhaps better than any other city reflects the many moods of Spain’s art and history. Visits are made to the magnificent Gothic Cathedral, the ancient Jewish Synagogue and the Jewish quarter.

Toledo, Madrid

Departure to Madrid.

MADRID TAPAS TOUR
(Wine & Tapas)

A TTapas tour through the city center to taste the famous Spanish Tapas. The bars should not be forgotten because they are where one of the most deeply-rooted of all traditions of Spain is carried out: the tapeo (Tapas are essentially snacks. Bigger portions that are ordered to make up part of a meal are called raciones).
