Drive to the Madrid wine areas to visit a cellar and taste the “Wines of Madrid”. The Protected Designation of Origin "Madrid Wines" is fairly young, recognized in 1990.

The vineyards are located in the south of the Autonomous Region of Madrid. They are wines with body, medium alcohol content, balanced and lusciously fruity. The red variety is the "tempranillo" and the main white varieties are the "malvar" and the "airen". Recently they have also started planting cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah.
