Vila Nova de Gaia is a town located on the other side of the Douro river. It is linked with Porto through a magnificent network of bridges, and by their shared history of winemaking.
A wine cellar visit to taste the famous Porto wines, made of grapes that the “ravelos” (gorgeous traditional river boats) transported from vineyards located up the river. Afterwards a walk at the medieval Porto quarter of Ribeira, which is the most picturesque spot in the city and declared a World Heritage Site.
