Day 1. LISBON
Arrival to Lisbon.
HISTORIC LISBON HALF DAY CITY TOUR
Visit the Saint George’s Castle with a magnificent view over the city, the medieval and old Jewish quarter of Alfama, the Church of Sao Domingos, the Cathedral and the Shaaré Tikvá synagogue.
Day 2. LISBON
ARTISTIC LISBON HALF DAY CITY TOUR
Visit the Jeronimo’s Monastery of Manueline architecture, the Monument of Discoveries, the Belen Tower, Baixa quarter, the National tile museum and the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceiçao Velha.
FADO SHOW EVENING WITH DINNER
Driving through the streets of Lisbon by night, you may admire the illuminated fountains, monuments and plazas. A delicious dinner will be enjoyed at a Fado restaurant. Afterwards watch a typical Fado Show where a performance of portuguese folklore will thrill you.
Day 3. LISBON
FULL DAY EXCURSION TO SINTRA, CASCAIS AND ESTORIL
Visit the pretty and charming village of Sintra, former residence of the Portuguese Kings and aristocracy with the beautiful Pena Palace. Drive to Boca do Inferno and continue to the fishing village of Cascais and the famous cosmopolitan town of Estoril.
Day 4. SETUBAL
A nice day to discover the country and seaside, with the Arrabida Natural Park, Palmela medieval castle and national monument, Cape Espichel and its sanctuary, Sesimbra fishing village, a visit to a wine cellar in Azeitao and Setubal with the caste of Sao Felipe.
Day 5. EVORA
Évora is located in the Alentejo region. It is one of the most charming and best-preserved cities in Portugal. Declared World Heritage by UNESCO, it is well-known as “Museum City”. Inside its 14th-century walls you will find narrow and sinuous alleys that will take you to amazing architectural works, such as the Sé or Cathedral, the columns of the Diana Roman Temple and the church of St. Francis and its Chapel of the Bones.
Day 6. EVORA
FULL DAY EXCURSION TO ESTREMOZ, VILA VIÇOSA AND ELVAS
The city of Estremoz is surrounded by an old wall and dominated by the shape of its Medieval 13th c. castle. Vila Viçosa, land of marble and of the Bragança Family Palace. Elvas is a small and nice city, full of monuments, classified as World Heritage Site by UNESCO, due to its fortresses, which are the biggest and the best kept bastioned fortresses of the world.
Day 7. BEJA
The best way to discover the charms of Beja is by walking through its historical stretch, headquarter of a Visigothic diocese and a Muslim community. It is also worthy visiting the Sé or Cathedral, an elegant Mannerist building and the Beja Castle which offers the best views of the city and the immensity of the Alentejan plain.
Day 8. PORTIMAO
HALF DAY EXCURSION TO PORTIMAO, SILVES AND MONCHIQUE
Portimao (Algarve) was an important commercial port for Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Greeks and known by the Romans as Portos Magnus. We drive to the east to visit the town of Silves with remains of the castle, Roman bridge and the cathedral. Then to the north to visit the rustic Monchique village with the Franciscan Monastery and the Parish church.
Day 9. PORTIMAO
HALF DAY EXCURSION TO LAGOS AND SAGRES
Drive to the nearby town of Lagos with the Marina, the harbour, the Town Hall and the church of Santo Antonio. Continue to Vila do Bispo, Cape Saint Vincent, the lighhouse and Sagres with the walls and the church of our Lady of Graça.
Day 10. FARO
HALF DAY EXCURSION TO TAVIRA AND FARO
Drive through the east coast of the Algarve to the village of Tavira a labyrinth of pretty streets. Then we continue to Faro city with the Roman walls, the cathedral and the church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo.
